How do I log in to CommSec?
To log in to CommSec, you’ll need your Client ID. This is an 8-digit number beginning with a “5” or an "8" which allows you to access all your CommSec accounts when you log in to the website. If you don’t remember your Client ID, you can retrieve it online.
For security reasons, you’re unable to view your Client ID once you have logged in to your account.
If you’re a CommBank customer, you can also access CommSec from NetBank. Just log on to NetBank, and select the CommSec tab in the top left corner of your screen.
Why use a Client ID instead of an account number?
Your Client ID is an “umbrella” ID that groups together all your CommSec accounts. So rather than having to log in separately for every account (such as Shares, Options, Margin Lending) you can access them all via just one login.
If you can't see all your accounts when you log in with your Client ID, please contact us
What if I forget my Client ID?
If you forget your Client ID, you can retrieve it online.
What if I forget my login password?
Here’s how to reset your password online:
Click the "Login" button on the CommSec homepage
On the login page, select the "Forgot password" link
Enter your Client ID and mobile number (if you can't remember your Client ID, go back and select the link "Forgot Client ID")
Follow the prompts to get your SMS Security Code
Enter the security code and click “Proceed” to create a new login password.
This process will only work if your registered mobile number is up to date on your CommSec profile. To update your mobile number, log in to your CommSec account, go to Settings, and select “View or edit details”.
For security reasons, CommSec does not email or mail out passwords. If you have any trouble resetting your password online, please contact us.
Can I still change my login password if my account is locked?
You may still be able to reset your password online if your account is locked. Try the steps above, and if you’re still unable to access your account, please contact us.
